Dear Eldercare Attorneys:
I would like to explore what would be the best way to position myself so as to qualify for medicaid. I have been denied Long Term health insurance by Genworth. I am not sure what I must do to make it as pain free for my wife without severly reducing her assets to cover long term health care should I need it later. I am some 8 years older than my wife. She is turning 65 this Fall. We are both in good health fortunately, but that will change at some point in time.
Can one of you help us? What is your charge for such consultation?

I have two elderly parents… one lives in a long term nursing home (no long term care insurance), the other is in need of assisted living. They have some personal assests but they are quickly dwindling. I have power of attorney and don’t know what the options are to protect them from going completely broke. Does your firm handle this sort of thing? If not, could you please direct me to a reputable firm that can advise me.
